At C. Light Technologies it's our unique approach that sets us apart. Our patented eye-tracking technology is capable of scanning the human retina with the accuracy of one micron. This precision allows users a non-invasive window to monitor and assess neurological health and detect problems at the earliest stages of disease or last stages of recovery giving patients access preventative neurological medicine and accurate therapeutic action.
Our patented technology scans the back of the eye up to a thousand times per second. Then, using our exclusive software, retinal motion is tracked with micron accuracy - roughly an 1/8th of the diameter of a human blood cell. This information is then quickly processed and readily available to physicians and technicians for clinical use.
Nationwide, there are 2 Million head injuries each and every year — and 1.6 Million of those are sports and recreation related. Depending on the severity of the head injury, patients will either first see an ER doctor or a primary care physician... with the majority being referred to a Neurologist. The trouble is, while neurologists have experience and know the classic signs of a mild traumatic brain injury, they have few tools at their disposal to help accurately diagnosis a concussion.
Currently the Gold Standard is a 40 plus year old
By tracking the eye with single cell resolution over a 1000 times per second, our device is capable of providing clinicians with neurodiagnostic information that they've never had before. Our patented technology works by scanning the back of the eye, the retina, with unmatched resolution and accuracy. Custom technology, software, and algorithms work in tandem to generate a clinical score that can help to guide the most effective patient therapies and treatments. This quick turnaround narrows the gap between an injury and assessment, effectively leveraging the time of both patients and clinicians to provide the highest quality of care possible. Intellectual property is at the core of our technologies, with two full patents issued.
Nationwide, there are 2 million head injuries each and every year, with 1.6 million related to sports and recreation. The trouble is, while doctors have the experience and know-how to pick up on the classic signs of a mild traumatic brain injury, they have few tools at their disposal to help objectively diagnose a concussion and monitor recovery. This can lead to returning to activity too soon resulting is secondary impact syndrome (SIS) and eventually chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). In fact, the prevalence of almost all neurodegenerative conditions, from MS to Alzheimer's, is on the rise. This is why the neurodiagnostic market is expected to double in size by 2024.
“Having an objective measurement for concussion monitoring would be invaluable.”
“Coaches hate the ambiguity of current concussion diagnostics.”
"Knowing if someone has a concussion with 100% certainty would be nice, but having a tool to rule it out would be even better.”
"Concussions are driven by the eyes.”
